transport manager
Responsibility
- plan and supervise the safe, efficient, transport distribution of products from transit sites to customer base
- ensure that its vehicles are roadworthy, and drivers comply with traffic and drivers’ hours rules
- ensure vehicle defects are processed with the Company’s supplier contacts and closed off
- assess and maintain transport health and safety needs
- deliver the annual refresher safe work briefings / training sessions for new and existing drivers
- keep organised records of vehicles and driver hours
- ensure tacho compliance is supervised with relevant drivers
- work productively with key stakeholders across the business
Requirements
- the role requires strong organisation and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise
- the ability to work well with others
- excellent verbal communication skills
- transport CPC is an ideal requirement although funded training and accreditation can be arranged for experienced transport candidates
- the role would benefit a Transport Manager interested in expanding their skill set in vehicle purchasing, and bringing their ideas to the businesses transport growth strategy
