Responsibility

  • review and update nursery policies as appropriate
  • market the nursery to prospective parents, promoting and developing a consistency of use
  • ensure that the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and operational policies and procedures and nursery administration is maintained and regularly updated to meet any changing needs and requirements
  • reports and responsible to: CEO Greets Green Community Enterprises
  • responsibility for: Assistant Manager, Nursery Workers including placements
  • create and deliver staff training plans as appropriate to the individual levels and roles to provide good quality ongoing training and professional development for all the team
  • report any recommendations in accordance with the development of the provision. Work with the CEO and staff team to achieve any agreed developments
  • work with the CEO to maintain OfSted registration and develop and deliver consistent high quality provision to meet the requirements of OfSted and ensure the needs of the children are paramount

Requirements

  • minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent, an appropriate level 4 full and relevant qualification or above is desirable
  • good level of applied literacy and numeracy
  • A minimum of two years working in a management capacity in a group day care setting for children aged 0-5 years
  • good knowledge of OFSTED standards and experience of inspections
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • good knowledge of health & safety legislation and its application in practice
  • achievement orientated, resourceful and with a clear ability to use own initiative
  • very well-organised and works autonomously with minimal close supervision
