  • LIGHTSHINE CHILDREN’s Home provide residential accommodation for 3 children aged from 8 - 16 with learning difficulties in a homely environment
  • we believe every young person is unique and has great potential thus our focus being on working in a person centred approach and identifying each young persons passions through personal engagement in therapeutic and educational initiatives thus helping them achieve a brighter future
  • we are currently recruiting Deputy Manager, within this role you will be responsible for the day to day operational running of the home, you will achieve and sustain a high level of care provision to our young people and deliver effective management, coaching and guidance to our staff
  • as the environment will be ever changing and challenging, we need robust & resilient individuals who understand this client group of often complex children
  • we are looking for the right deputy manager who can lead, inspire and motivate a team of people to support, manage and develop the young people within this service

Requirements

  • at least 2 years’ experience deputy managing a residential home for looked after children and young people
  • QCF level 5 in Leadership & Management
  • excellent organisation skills
  • ability to use initiative with effective decision making
  • ability to deal with conflict/crisis situations effectively and in a therapeutic manner
  • work as part of a multi-disciplinary consultative team with other internal and external professionals
  • effective communication skills to disseminate information
  • excellent and sound knowledge of residential guidelines including Quality Standards, Care Standards Act, Children’s home regulations, Children’s Act
