- we are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our Telecommunications & Control Systems Division, as a Technician
- we are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Technician to join our Works Train Department
- we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Track Division as a Technician
- premiums are paid for shift work and on-call
- qualifications and Experience
- the Person
- previous work experience in telecommunications or an electronics role is essential
- the role will consist of corrective and preventative maintenance, and you will be responsible for inspecting and testing of equipment and procedures essential in supporting Eurotunnel’s cross channel service
- A BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or post apprenticeship may be considered with proven demonstratable experience in a technical environment
- A BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or post apprenticeship may be considered with 2 years’ experience in a technical environment
- we are looking for someone who can demonstrate their vast experience within our team of workshop technicians, performing maintenance on electro-mechanical equipment, undertaking fault diagnostics, and correcting electrical based problems on all types of works train equipment, with a willingness to qualify in the use of all relevant equipment e.g., Locomotives, PSV Vehicles, MEWPs
- you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance, to permanently guarantee the operational integrity of the track infrastructure and equipment
- previous experience in a railway environment would be an advantage
- due to the nature of this role, you must be prepared to work on a shift pattern and participate in an on-call rota
- due to the nature of this role, you must be prepared to work occasional unsociable hours and participate in an on-call rota
- you will ensure the maintenance and safeguarding of work systems and must be able to demonstrate compliance with Health & Safety regulations and procedures
- you will need to demonstrate enthusiasm to learn and develop the skills required to fulfil the role in its entirety
- who We Are
- you must have an electrical qualification to ONC level or post Apprenticeship with proven demonstratable work experience in an electrical maintenance environment either domestic, or industrial
- qualified to ONC/HND/NVQ level or equivalent in a telecommunication or electronic discipline and be able to demonstrate experience in a telecommunications or electronics environment
- this position will interest you if you are passionate about supporting a committed and highly skilled team to achieve continuous safety and engineering performance improvements of Works Train equipment
- educated to HNC / HND / NVQ or equivalent in an electrical or mechanical discipline, or a BTEC / C&G qualification or equivalent in a technical discipline may be considered if combined with proven demonstrable work experience
- eurotunnel is the environmentally friendly way to travel to France
- perform corrective maintenance of equipment in accordance with approved diagnostic procedures and instructions to ensure the equipment is returned to service in a timely manner
- you will need to demonstrate your ability to be logical in your approach and enjoy problem solving, acting with confidence in real time, and show the aptitude to work under pressure and remain calm to support the operation and work colleagues
