sales manager

Responsibility

  • using technical background knowledge and the candidates own network to identify new business opportunities within the various geoscience markets
  • managing and organising sales data and delivering sales reports every month and quarter to sales director
  • answering customer enquiries about new instrument sale or services projects over the phone, via web conference, and by email
  • organising and producing quotation and technical offers in conjunction with distributors, the sales teams, and the sales director
  • supporting the sales administration team in processing sales orders, internal works orders and customer order acknowledgements
  • updating customer records within CRM
  • liaising with the production and core services team for delivery scheduling with customers
  • this will include establishing and participating in client meetings, generating marketing material, and working with the sales director to develop new market strategies

Requirements

  • accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail expected
  • good problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously
  • good interpersonal, presentation, organisational skills
  • willingness to learn and deliver to tight deadlines
  • effective communication skills, and ability to work as part of a small team
  • must have at least 5 years of sales or business development experience in sales of geological services or scientific instrumentation
  • knowledge or use of a CRM system would be a benefit but not essential
  • must have a full and clean UK driving license
