Responsibility
- we are currently hiring a Yard Operatives/Forklift Operators to join our team at a reputable Timber & Builders Merchants
- this will be at our Biddenden Branch
- as a Yard Operative/Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of our yard, ensuring the efficient handling and movement of timber and building materials
- stock Control: Assist in monitoring stock levels, conducting regular stock checks, and reporting any discrepancies or shortages to the relevant personnel
- forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials within the yard and warehouse, following all relevant safety guidelines and procedures
- yard Management: Organize and maintain the yard, ensuring products are stored safely and efficiently, and that the yard is kept clean and tidy at all times
Requirements
- valid forklift operator’s license and a proven track record of safe and skilled forklift operation
- previous experience working in a yard or warehouse environment, preferably within the timber and builders merchants industry
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage stock and yard organization effectively
- ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with customers and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner
- basic computer literacy for basic data entry and inventory management tasks
- physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy materials and perform manual handling tasks
- flexibility to work alternate Saturdays and occasionally during busy periods
