we are currently hiring a Yard Operatives/Forklift Operators to join our team at a reputable Timber & Builders Merchants
this will be at our Biddenden Branch
as a Yard Operative/Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of our yard, ensuring the efficient handling and movement of timber and building materials
stock Control: Assist in monitoring stock levels, conducting regular stock checks, and reporting any discrepancies or shortages to the relevant personnel
forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials within the yard and warehouse, following all relevant safety guidelines and procedures
yard Management: Organize and maintain the yard, ensuring products are stored safely and efficiently, and that the yard is kept clean and tidy at all times

Requirements

valid forklift operator’s license and a proven track record of safe and skilled forklift operation
previous experience working in a yard or warehouse environment, preferably within the timber and builders merchants industry
strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage stock and yard organization effectively
ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy
excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with customers and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner
basic computer literacy for basic data entry and inventory management tasks
physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy materials and perform manual handling tasks
flexibility to work alternate Saturdays and occasionally during busy periods
