Responsibility

  • the willingness to accept your share of responsibility for the team and ownership of its outputs and problems
  • lead Electrical designer on NDP automation machines designing new systems from scratch
  • design of safety systems from scratch
  • design of electrical cabinets for new machines
  • responsible for creating / modifying electrical drawings as required
  • produce pneumatic diagrams
  • support production with electrical fault diagnosis
  • assist controls engineer on commissioning activities

Requirements

  • electrical or mechatronic qualification, minimum foundation degree, HNC, HND or degree in an applicable discipline
  • minimum 8 years experience in creating / reading electrical schematics / circuit diagrams
  • minimum 5 years experience in design of complete electrical systems including safety systems
  • excellent understanding of UKCA / CE marking PUWER and machine certification
  • knowledge of different motor drive technologies such as servo, dc, Stepper and AC motors
  • knowledge of PLC’s, coding experience would be useful
  • solidWorks electrical experience advantageous
  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety certification advantageous
