Responsibility
- be a source of knowledge for health and safety regulations and guidelines in the preparation and handling of food
- ensuring that all team members follow best practice for hygiene and food safety
- helping the Kitchen manager in ensuring the kitchen is well staffed
- lead and supervise the kitchen team members in all aspects of food preparation, cleaning, and line duties including during peak services
- keeping check of stock levels and assisting the Kitchen Manager with ordering
- performing under pressure on peak services keeping the team working effectively and working with the FOH to ensure a high quality of service
- to take over the running of the kitchen if the Kitchen Manager is absent for reasons of Holiday or illness
- assisting the Kitchen manager in making sure that tasks are being performed on a weekly basis and delegating them to other supervisors
Requirements
- at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a high-volume restaurant
- strong leadership skills and ability to lead a team effectively
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- will be required to have a high amount of flexibility and availability in their weekly working schedule
- must have excellent knife skills and be experienced in performing complex preparation tasks effectively
- have some experience in checking stock levels / ordering from suppliers
