Responsibility

  • assists residents with any special needs during transportation; such as carrying packages, opening doors, assisting residents onto and out of vehicle and to the point of destination required

gardener

Responsibility

  • keep external signage and exterior lighting clean and in proper working order and ensure external signs are visible at all times, particularly in winter
  • maintain retaining wall/s and structures, including trimming and weeding of overhanging plants. Large area beyond retaining wall at the Care Home
  • sweep roads, paths and patio/terrace & car park areas to keep free of litter, debris and leaves, etc
  • clean down retaining wall/s and railings and keep well presented, including painting as necessary. Creosote/paint bin store/s and other fencing/decking at least bi-annually, and ideally annually

maintenance operative

Requirements

  • previous experience in a maintenance role or strong handyman skills
  • excellent organisational skills
  • ability to multitask and manage varied workload
  • strives to provide excellent customer service
  • excellent verbal communication skills are essential
  • A sound understanding of the main Health & Safety Regulations, including COSHH and risk assessment
  • knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, with attention to detail and precision
  • have fire drill experience and willingness to be fire marshal

Responsibility

  • check wheelchairs, hoists, profiling beds and other mechanical equipment and repair or report as necessary

  • replace light bulbs, etc. as necessary
  • identify and report any hazards to the Registered Manager

  • check that the heating system is functioning properly, and that room and water temperatures are adequate. Record water temperature readings appropriately and report any malfunctions
