Responsibility

  • manage and supervise a team of support workers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
  • provide comprehensive support to vulnerable young adults, aged 18-25, who have secured tenancies
  • work collaboratively with the team to develop personalized support plans for individuals experiencing homelessness
  • assist clients in understanding their rights and responsibilities as tenants, including payment of rent, utility bills, and other housing-related obligations
  • assist individuals with the completion and understanding of tenancy agreements, ensuring they are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities
  • support individuals in managing their benefits, ensuring they receive the appropriate entitlements and assisting with applications or appeals if needed
  • support individuals in accessing and navigating benefit schemes to maximize their financial stability
  • conduct regular assessments and reviews of individual progress, adjusting support plans accordingly

Requirements

  • excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • previous experience in a housing management or support worker role, preferably working with vulnerable young adults
  • strong understanding of tenancy agreements and benefit schemes, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation
  • possession of an enhanced DBS certificate is essential
  • experience in working with individuals who exhibit minor challenging behaviors
  • sound knowledge of tenancy regulations, benefits systems, and relevant legislation
  • enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is essential
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with vulnerable individuals
