delivering the best possible nurturing and learning environment for the children, and ensuring that the setting meets the required regulatory standards
managing the setting within the operational policies and procedures of First Steps Childcare
ensuring that the setting adheres to Health & Safety policies and procedures, and communicating all identified risks to the Senior Childcare Manager
working closely with the Senior Childcare Manager to ensure the setting has an effective programme for recruitment and training
undertaking performance reviews for the settings staff team, identifying, monitoring and supporting the professional development of the team
managing the operation and evaluation of a programme of activities that links to the current Early Years regulations – including Every Child Matters, Ofsted National Standards, and the Early Years Foundation Stage
maintaining effective and timely communication with parents and carers, and other external agencies as appropriate
managing the effective operation of the setting in order to meet the occupancy and budget targets, as set by the Senior Childcare Manager
Requirements
level 3 qualification in Early Childhood Studies
the ability to obtain a first aid certificate
experience in holding a supervisory position in a Childcare setting
working knowledge of current Early Years regulations – including Every Child Matters, Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted National Standards
mentoring and coaching skills
the ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
A clear vision, looking towards providing an environment that is able to deliver outstanding care & education for children
the ability to travel between sites and to external agencies
