Responsibility

  • fibre Extrusion Technology Ltd designs, develops and manufactures processing systems that make fibres for biomedical and technical applications
  • as part of a proposed restructuring within the company, a vacancy has risen for an experienced and suitably qualified manager to head up the Process and Product Development activities of the company
  • the successful candidate will be responsible for managing Process and Product Development within the company with the primary aim of creating business opportunities for the company to support the generation of present and future profitable sales to globally based existing and new customers, ranging from academic institutions to multinational corporations
  • reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role will involve frequent overseas travel, working closely with suppliers, customers and FET’s sales and operations teams to develop and support sales of equipment

Requirements

  • keeness to share knowledge with others with an infectious enthusiasm for communicating the opportunities technology offers
  • experience in a relevant technical / scientific / engineering environment
  • proven experience dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups
  • experience of working with clients who operate in a highly regulated industry
  • an ability to drive common objective thinking, with a complete focus on providing solutions
  • a purpose-driven changemaker with a strong mindset for continuous improvement
  • this position would suit candidates who are qualified to degree level in an engineering or science subject with and who are able to demonstrate a history of successfulR & D achievement in a subject/field with scientific, process or engineering content
  • familiarity with fibre extrusion and particularly polymer spinning processes and experience of the medical devices and / or high-tech textile industries would be of particular relevance
