Responsibility
- make ethical and timely decisions regarding each assessment
- participate in the recruitment and selection of suitably qualified assessors
- provide assessor’s with an induction and training program, either individually or in groups
- allocate assessments to social workers and manage the timing of assessments, to ensure they are completed within legislative timescales
- to provided case directions, support, and undertake decision making regarding each assessment
- oversee the recruitment and assessment of prospective foster carers and provide regular feedback to the management team on the progress of assessments
- manage and provide professional supervision and appraisals to both independent and internal Social Work staff, through phone, email, face to face and virtual forums, to ensure assessments are robust, and completed within timescales
- quality assure Foster Carer’s Review Reports, including reviews following complaints/concerns/allegations/standard of care investigations, etc
