- strong knowledge of human anatomy, particularly related to the eyes
- excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate prescription filling
- strong communication skills to effectively assist customers in selecting the right eyewear
- ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmologists, and other optical staff
- perform comprehensive eye exams to assess visual acuity and detect any abnormalities or diseases
- prescribe corrective lenses or other vision aids as needed
- diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
- educate patients on proper eye care and hygiene practices
- stay up-to-date with advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education activities
- GOC Registered
- strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and diseases
- excellent clinical skills and ability to perform accurate assessments and diagnoses
- effective communication skills to educate and inform patients about their eye health
- ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
