Responsibility
- assist with the installation and maintenance of underground utilities, such as water, electrical cables, gas supplies and waste pipe
- operate hand tools and power equipment, such as shovels, breakers, moling equipment and compactors
- excavate trenches and holes for utility lines using machinery or manual labour
- backfill trenches/pits and compact soil to ensure stability
- assist with the installation of concrete forms and pouring of concrete, reinstatement of block paving/tarmac/shingle and other driveway surfaces
- perform general clean up of work areas and tidy away of equipment
Requirements
- strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labour for extended periods
- knowledge of basic construction techniques and tools
- ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- basic understanding of safety procedures and protocols
- excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in work
