responsibilities·
we are seeking a reliable, resourceful and charismatic person to join Expedition Yorkshire as a driver guide, taking groups of no more than seven guests all over Yorkshire, the north of England and beyond
we have found that the most successful driver guides may have had any of a broad spectrum of backgrounds – they may have worked, for example, as actors, teachers, hospitality workers, City workers looking to escape, historians, ex forces/police
promising candidates will be interviewed by telephone initially, and those deemed suitable for consideration will be requested to interview

display a passion for Yorkshire, Britain, and the wider United Kingdom and an enthusiasm for showing our guests from around the world this amazing place· Effectively communicate with, entertain, enthral and delight our customers/guests from all over the world· Drive the top-specification company Mercedes Benz V Class with due care and attention at all times for the comfort and safety of passengers and within the legal limits.· Carry out basic safety and maintenance checks of the vehicles before each tour· Consistently offer the highest levels of customer service to ensure each customer receives the best experience possible and to maintain our excellent reputation· Go above and beyond the expectations of our guests· Demonstrate a quick-thinking and level-headed personality, able to cope when situations don’t go to plan· Offer walking and/or driving tours of some of the places that we visit· Some previous knowledge of the places we visit would be useful, but extensive and intensive training will be provided covering many places including Whitby, Haworth, The Dales, Hadrians Wall, Scottish Border country· Demonstrate an eagerness to continually develop and improve your wide-ranging historic, cultural and social knowledge· Join occasional training and familiarisation days· Be willing to work irregular hours, including some weekends, bank holidays and occasional overnights in hotelsIf your application is successful, you will need to obtain a PCO licence from The City of York council which amongst other things needs a DBS check and class 2 medical.Successful applicants are generally retained seasonally on a contractual, self-employed basis
