Requirements
- minimum HNC/HND or equivalent in a mechanical, engineering or manufacturing discipline
- A good understanding of welding and welding equipment
- proficient in Solidworks or similar CAD system
- an understanding of quality management methods and ISO9001 requirements
- experience with NPI and the development to production for products, including control plans, process flowcharts, value stream mapping etc
- able to read and understand engineering drawings fluently and to recognise where data is conflicted or incorrect
- implementing Process Improvements: 4 years
- an understanding of non-conformance analysis including dentification of root cause using standard tools and suggestions/implementation of corrective actions
Responsibility
- liaise with engineering and production to identify, design and manufacture jigs, fixtures or tooling if needed
- developing and improving processes and procedures ensuring efficient and effective manufacture of our products, including the creation of SOP’s and shop floor documentation to support manufacturing processes
- taking responsibility for the maintenance and repair of production equipment, liaising with external contractors where necessary and ensuring production downtime is avoided with good practice and proactive, scheduled care of essential kit
- identifying, communicating, and executing continuous improvement projects related to production and manufacturing, including cross functional teams, and engaging with external resources to ensure constraints are overcome and projects are delivered on time
- assisting in the resolution of quality issues through the structured application of problem solving and root cause analysis techniques
- work alongside our production department to ensure the most effective use of tools, software and resources, analysing data from the shop and management to report on OEE and yield to assist in the removal of bottlenecks and constraints
- working closely with our IT department to take a leading role in the implementation of our incoming ERP system which will be introduced over the coming year
