reporting directly to the Security Supervisor, the main purpose of the Security Officer is to ensure all vehicles are correctly booked in and out through our busy traffic office and the site operates in a safe and secure manner
there will be a requirement to work additional overtime shifts in accordance with the needs of the business such as covering for sickness, holidays, and unforeseen circumstances
handing over any information of relevance at the end of each shift and ensuring all issues are reported to the supervisor and/or manager
accurate logging of all vehicles arriving and departing site and ensuring no unauthorised visitors gain access
monitoring the fire alarm system, collecting logs in the event of an evacuation, and ensuring the gatehouse evacuation plan is carried out
keeping the security supervisor up to date with any changes to the shift procedures as well as updating the Facilities manager if required
Requirements
2 years’ experience as a Security Officer, similar role, or ex-military
knowledge of standard security concepts, practices, and procedures
experience with report writing
IT literate to a basic standard
outstanding surveillance and observation skills
experience in monitoring surveillance systems
trained in First Aid
good understanding of legal guidelines for security and public safety
