Responsibility

  • to maintain and promote residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by Estherswift Care and Ofsted
  • to contribute to the educational and social development of each young person and assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programs
  • to meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximize opportunities for their development
  • to provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which young people can feel secure and free from harm
  • provide induction to young person on admission, explaining house rules and welcome pack etc
  • continually assess young people's needs and work with Team Leaders/ Managers to revise support plans in line with young person's changing needs and abilities

Education

  • GCSE or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Health & Social Care and / or minimum of two years’ experience within the Looked After Children Services Sector

Requirements

  • experience of working with children and their families in some capacity. SKILLS

  • an ability to develop productive working relationships between workers, the local community and other agencies
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to produce a variety of information to aid decision making

  • recording skills and the ability to work effectively within a structured programme
