Requirements
level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care or other relevant qualification at level 3 such as studying toward a professional qualification
proven engagement skills in working with difficult to engage young people
prior experience of working with and a proven understanding of the needs of children leaving care
proven experience in producing and maintaining accurate case records
prior experience of working with young people in a group living situation and promoting stability and structure
an understanding of data protection / GDPR
proven experience of advocating for and with young people and individuals facing challenging circumstances
proven experience in managing difficult \\ challenging behaviour / being a role model and mentoring young people
Responsibility
to always hold strong professional boundaries working in accordance with Social Work England Professional Standards
to befriend, mentor, and support young people in need, with the aim of teaching key life skills that will readily equip young people for adulthood
to promote our service positively and in accordance with our ethos at all times – which is to have a strength based, can do approach to day-to-day problems
to plan and deliver bespoke key work sessions from our independence program – F\*O\*UN\*D\*AT\*I\*ON to both individual young people and in small groups both on-line and face to face
to work within the ethos of Gyan Mudra to promote an environment where every young person feels valued, safe, and supported in their journey toward adulthood
to have knowledge of, and work with, an understanding of the signs of abuse and harm that are relevant to young people of this age
to discuss safeguarding issues with management to ensure agreed safeguarding strategies and risk plans are replicated across the team
you will have knowledge of the risks to young people of gangs, child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, substance use, self-harm, and child trafficking
