Responsibility
oversee the assessment, planning, delivery, and review of support for clients with mental health diagnoses living in their own homes
advocate for clients to ensure their needs are met, liaise with professionals, and attend reviews and meetings
ensure safety and risk assessment of clients and staff, report and address safeguarding concerns, and maintain up-to-date documentation
promote a positive working culture and environment for staff, providing supervision, support, shadowing and mentoring
participate in recruitment, retention, and induction processes for new staff members
prepare for CIW and LA audits, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies
produce rosters for support workers and provide handovers to senior teams and external professionals
train staff in line with medication policy and liaise with GPs and pharmacies
Requirements
A good leader should have high levels of emotional intelligence, empathy, compassion to both their teammates and people we support
they should be caring, motivating and supportive to the support workers that they lead
A good team leader would need to be trustworthy, thoughtful, and always communicate clearly and professionally
this knowledge will inform your approach to providing empathetic and effective recovery focused, person-centred support to our clients
you will be vigilant in identifying potential risks and implementing measures to maintain a secure environment
your ability to implement, review and adapt these plans will be critical to achieving positive outcomes
you should empower the team to be autonomous where needed but also be dependable, approachable, helpful, and supportive when guiding the team and giving critical feedback
A team lead should have a strong work ethic and instil this in others to motivate the team as well as promote self-care and work-life balance to avoid burn out which can be common in the sector
