Requirements
- level 3 Vocational qualification/HNC/City & Guilds qualification in Hospitality and Catering Management/Food Preparation or equivalent qualification
- ensure all catering ingredients and equipment are purchased within budgetary constraints
- regularly seek feedback from people and plan changes according to feedback
- ensure accurate, legible records are kept
- manage waste effectively
- attend regular meetings to stay informed of expectations and views
- ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements on food hygiene, storage and temperature control
- prepare and serve all meals in a timely manner
Responsibility
- assist in the recruitment of catering staff
- operate an efficient stock control system
- induct new starters in accordance with company policy
- ensure supplied equipment is used with care, in accordance with suppliers’ instructions and training
- work closely with the Nutrition & Dietetic Service to ensure competence for the organisation is maintained annually
- work to the HACCP framework and ensure all records are maintained accordingly
- be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals the service supports
- facilitate Environmental Health visits and ensure all catering staff follow the correct guidelines
