Requirements
- previous experience in a procurement role that requires strong commercial acumen
- proven experience in a direct procurement role, ideally within automotive/fast moving manufacturing environment
- proven experience in a strategic procurement role

- previous experience of working with MRP/ERP systems is a bonus
- able to travel both in the UK and overseas when needed
- CIPS or equivalent would be advantageous but isn't essential if you are qualified by experience
- willing and able to get to Malvern a minimum of 3 times per week and happy to travel overseas when required
- A positive, driven personality and a desire to help create a true best in class procurement function
- proven experience of procurement - ideally you'll have had strategic responsibility for direct spend in a fast moving manufacturing environment - automotive preferred but not essential so long as you can demonstrate strong understanding of best practice procurement and a good track record of delivering savings
- previous procurement/purchasing experience ideally gained within a manufacturing/engineering environment
- A good understanding of Category Management - you don't necessarily have to have held full category strategy formulation and execution responsibility before, however you do need to understand how category management is performed and the structure behind it
- strong sourcing and supplier evaluation skills as well as previous experience of negotiating and awarding contracts. Experience of working with both domestic and international suppliers would be beneficial
- experience of identifying, engaging and negotiating with new suppliers - if this happens to include overseas then that would be a great advantage but isn't essential
- A good understanding of Category Management - you don't necessarily have to have held full category strategy formulation and execution responsibility before , however you do need to understand how category management is performed and the structure behind it
- if you have any experience of Cap-Ex, engineering consumables / spares, or procuring highly specified products or services this would be highly welcomed, however it's not essential - previous experience of procuring services is the main driver for this one
- an attitude that doesn’t settle for the status quo and is prepared to challenge and question and bring new ideas to the table
