Responsibility

• to use safe working practices, take account of any safety precautions or guidelines, and using safety equipment and clothing where supplied
• to report all accidents to the manager / nurse in charge, and participate in accident prevention by reporting potential hazards
• to be aware of all fire exit means of escape from the Home

• to complete all Company Health and Safety and Fire checks as requested
• to complete all food hygiene and safety documentation as required by legislation
• to be aware of, and to comply with the operational policies and procedures of the home, in particular Fire procedures, Health and Safety at Work Act, Confidentiality, Residents' complaints, Discipline and Grievance procedure and Accident / Incident reporting procedures
• act in accordance with Company and legal requirements; fostering practices and standards that comply to the values of the Company
• to work at all times, within the guidelines of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Employee Handbook, Food Hygiene legislation and Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedure
• follows policies and procedures to prevent the spread of diseases and illnesses amongst self, colleagues, and residents
• to read and implement the Company Policy and Procedure for Infection Control

Responsibility

• attend and contribute to staff meetings and quality forums
• accurately document any changes to duty rotas in respect of sickness or absence, whilst maintaining adequate cover for shifts, and with due regard to the minimum staffing levels as suggested by the CQC
• to monitor standards of cleaning. Ensure the appropriate segregation of clinical and other waste materials and ensure they are disposed of in accordance with current legislation and Company Policy and Procedure on Clinical waste
