DIXON INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS is looking for employees for positions:

transport planner

Working hours

Responsibility

  • the allocation of vehicles will consider driver hours, unit compatibility with customer requirements, driver qualifications (eg
  • ADR) and most efficient unit mileage
  • driver messaging with instruction and POD management is also a key part of the role
  • responding to customer quote requests in a timely and commercially sensible manner
  • updating customers with collection/delivery ETAs, driver and vehicle details, and POD confirmation
  • as a Transport Planner, the role is first and foremost about allocating own fleet resources to cover customer collections and deliveries across an allocated geographic area
  • we are presently looking for Monday – Friday, and Tuesday – Saturday shift patterns. The office is operational 0600-2000. Working hours will be 42.5hr per week, hours TBA upon successful application

Requirements

  • at least two years experience in road freight transport planning, ideally 40ft artic vehicles
  • we are looking for an accomplished International Transport Planner, with experience planning FTL and LTL in an express freight environment
  • an understanding of basic Customs Protocols would be an advantage, both UK/ROI and UK/EU Mainland
  • the ideal candidate will have a background in HGV planning, however, we will consider other road transport backgrounds
  • A previous role with some supervisory/team management aspects would be seen favourably

  • experience in international import and export operations required
  • transport Management CPC is not a requirement for the role, but the candidate should have a working knowledge of Tacograph Regulations, as they relate to driving hours and legal breaks
