Requirements
- NVQ 2/3 or a willingness to complete
- experience in a Support Worker role in CQC / Ofsted regulated services for children/ adults with learning disabilities
- A Full driving licence
Responsibility
- supporting the individuals to access health services
- promoting and supporting the individuals to maintain relationships with family and friends, opening opportunities to develop relationships
- supporting individuals to reach and maintain independence in their lives, by providing personal care if needed, this includes supporting the individual in bathing, washing, shaving, drinking, eating and attending to toilet needs
- supporting the individual to prepare meals, ensuring the promotion of a healthy balanced diet. Prepare meals when required following food hygiene guidance and promoting a healthy balanced diet
- to act without delay any concern of abuse to line management or using the whistleblowing procedure
- following support plans and play an active role to help the individuals understand their plan and involve the individuals to evaluate the plan
- promoting services and opportunities that reflect ordinary patterns of life, enabling people with Learning Disability, Autism and/or Mental Health Conditions to experience opportunities at appropriate times of the day, week and year
- contributing to the development of person centred plans that meet the person’s need and are matched, as much as possible, to their ability, aptitude, interests and skills
