Responsibility
- to assume the role of Manager in nursery/setting Managers absence, undertaking all duties relevant to the role
- ensure their records and those of others are properly maintained e.g. register, accident/incident books
- to assist the Manager and other staff in the day-to-day running of the nursery/setting, working at all times in a safe and caring manner and in accordance with nursery/setting rules, regulations and policies
- to be responsible for the planning ensure variety and diversity; which maintains children’s interests and ensures development of the children
- to work in a professional manner when dealing with parents, visitors and other agencies, adhering to strict confidentiality rules at all times
- to ensure that a good example is set at all times in the way that the children are spoken to and the words that are used and that the pronunciation is correct
- ensure the display work is of a high standard and children’s work is displayed positively
- to be responsible for implementing systems of observation and record keeping so that children’s progress and development are effectively recorded and assessed
