Responsibility
maintain, configure, and optimize the Adastra system to support uninterrupted urgent care operations, including NHS 111 and out-of-hours services
monitor system health, implement updates, and manage patches to ensure stability and security for millions of patient interactions
work closely with clinicians, call handlers, and third-party vendors to address system needs, streamline workflows, and meet NHS operational standards
ensure data integrity and compliance with NHS data protection policies through regular backups, audits, and disaster recovery measures
support end-users—clinicians, administrative staff, and call center teams—with training and technical guidance on using Adastra effectively
document system processes, incident resolutions, and changes to maintain clear records for audits and regulatory compliance
troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system performance, user access, and integrations with NHS infrastructure like Summary Care Records or shared care systems
contribute to system enhancements by staying informed on updates to Adastra and broader NHS IT developments, ensuring the platform evolves with urgent care demands
Requirements
bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
hands-on experience with the Adastra system or similar clinical management platforms in a healthcare setting
proficiency in system administration, database management, and troubleshooting, ideally in a Windows-based environment
understanding of NHS urgent care workflows, NHS 111 operations, and data integration protocols is a strong advantage
ability to thrive in high-pressure situations, delivering solutions quickly to minimize disruptions in patient care
strong communication skills to bridge technical and clinical teams effectively
the ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a knack for troubleshooting under pressure, and a commitment to supporting healthcare delivery
certifications like Microsoft, ITIL, or NHS-specific IT training are desirable but not mandatory
