- you MUST have previous experience working in an Anaesthetic role
- the role is paying £50-58K and is on a permanent contract
- you MUST have previous experience working in a 'Nurse' role and have ODP or Anesthetic training

- duties and Responsibilities
- the role incorporates the following
- performing experienced competent phlebotomy as per the medical request accordingly
- to promote a patient-focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant healthcare professionals
- fully understand the clinical protocols, standard operating procedures , patient information and consent forms
- possess a working knowledge of their patient’s drug regimes and treatment plans
- undertake responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the specialist service area of ultrasound and effective utilisation of all resources allocated
- manage challenges and understand the fundamentals of consumer behaviour
- prepare for and assist with the smooth running of the clinic ensuring a high standard of nursing care
- fully understand the clinic’s clinical protocols, standard operating procedures , patient information and consent forms
- to educate patients and their carers as required where a need has been identified
- responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs of individual patients undergoing treatments in their care
- perform ultrasound scans in Obstetrics, including early pregnancy, dating, anatomy and ongoing assessment in pregnancy
- differentiate between important and urgent tasks, and prioritise and complete multiple tasks
- scheduling of patient treatment cycles, liaising with doctors to arrange prescriptions and drug administration
- chaperone for other staff
- to ensure that all patients’ clinical documentation is completed correctly by members of the theatre team
- good time management
- perform basic patient assessments
- understand and implement the role of the chaperone
- to maintain a safe environment in the recovery/ward area
- demonstrate flexibility, including duties, hours of work, breaks, working conditions, working with team members, protocols and procedures, updates in knowledge etc
- perform blood tests
- perform blood testsPerform nurses’ pretreatment consultations
- possess a working knowledge of his/her patient’s drug regimes and treatment plans
- carry out clinical examinations including Tran’s abdominal, transvaginal and Doppler techniques
- assist with data entry e.g. entering ultrasound measurements
- to assist in the establishment and monitoring of protocols/care pathways for recovery/ward area
- assist in clinical procedures such as Oocyte retrievals, Embryo transfers, IUI, Hycosy, Endometrial scratch/biopsy
- an openness to change, growth, and take on greater levels of responsibility and performance
- perform nurses’ pretreatment consultations
- perform venepuncture, interpret and give blood results when necessary
- document all information relating to patients and treatment in patient notes in MedITEX
- to review the ultrasound SOPs and competency frame work
- perform decontamination on trans-vaginal probes between scans
- ensure adequate stocks of supplies and drugs are held to ensure the smooth operation of patient’s treatment
- communicate and interact effectively, calmly and compassionately, during various points of contact with patients and staff alike
- consent patients using the Clinic’s electronic consent platform
- perform venepuncture, interpret, and give blood results when necessary and trained to do so
- to take part in training nurses in follicular tracking
- use aseptic techniques when assisting with invasive procedures
- to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure all staff understand the relevance of this
- provide training to junior nursing staff to facilitate their skills development in fertility services, treatment planning and ultrasonography
- you will need to be flexible and accommodating
- communicate clinical instructions to patients
- obtain informed consent from patients within HFEA code of practice
- co-ordinate treatment cycle plans and teach patients to self-administer fertility drugs
- responsible for reporting of findings by use of computerized software and filing reports in patient notes on IDEAS
- manage the stock room when deliveries are made and rotate stock accordingly 29
- teach patients how to self administer relevant medications
- ensure all samples are labelled clearly in full, requests are logged and entered on ideas and samples put for forward for collection by the courier
- deal with telephone and e-mail enquiries in a professional manner and ensure that all information given is up to date and accurate
- obtain informed consent from patients within HFEA code of practice guidelines
