Responsibility
- assisting with personal care, i.e. washing/bathing, dressing and use of toilet/commode
- maintaining nutritional needs, i.e. cooking, assisting with feeding and shopping if necessary
- helping to meet the emotional needs of the client and, if applicable, other family members/carers
- respecting the client’s wishes and privacy and need for confidentiality
- promotion and maintenance of independent living
- light household duties to ensure that the client is cared for within safe, hygienic surroundings if that is acceptable to the client; otherwise to ensure that the working area for the Carer complies with Health and Safety Regulations
- assisting with medications as prescribed by the GP and other regimes as set up by other health care professionals
- moving/transferring clients as necessary
