  • ability to engage and build positive relationships with young people and colleagues
  • level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent preferred
  • ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • maintain safeguarding practices
  • implement confidentiality and integrity
  • remain calm in challenging situations
  • able to adapt and respond quickly to situations of escalation / conflict
  • must be flexible as shift patterns cover 24 hours a day / day and night, including Xmas, Easter

  • supporting children in care to achieve their personal goals and aspirations
  • being aspirational towards the outcomes of children in our care
  • accompanying young people to various appointments
  • being proactive in helping promote young person's hobbies and interests
  • creating a ‘fun’ and positive home environment and atmosphere
  • organising and taking part in activities contained in the activity planner
  • keywork duties including all aspects of progressing semi-independent plans
  • help and assist the young person in managing budget
