  • to assist with preparation of all project documentation, including design assurance and inspection reports
  • works may typically include bridge design, building design and/or refurbishment , including railway platforms, drainage, car parks, arch viaducts, all from feasibility through GRIP1-GRIP8 , and for London Underground by way of CDS/DCC, etc
  • to assist in the delivery of projects to programme, to budget and to match or exceed the clients' expectations
  • to interface with clients and other disciplines , attending and as required, chairing and minuting key meetings, and in particular inter disciplinary meetings

Requirements

  • structural / Civil design, including some experience of Buildings, Roads and/or Rail would be beneficial
  • technical knowledge in Civil and Structural Design engineering
  • ability to draft drawing layouts and Civil/Structural details
  • proficiency in report and specification writing, calculations, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and developing designs from first principles
  • BEng Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is essential . MSC/MEng is desirable

mechanical engineer

  • minimum HND/HNC – ideally Degree qualified
  • minimum 2-3 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering consultancy
  • excellent report writing skills and excellent communication skills with all interfaces
  • proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD packages such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP or Bentley AECOsim
  • experience of IES modelling software
  • experience of mechanical calculations including use of software packages such as Hevacomp IES, etc
  • understanding of BIM Level 2 and BIM project deliverables structure
  • work towards growing to Senior/Principal Engineering role within the business

Responsibility

  • maintain up-to-date knowledge of current standards and legislation
  • undertake detailed site surveys and attend client meetings
  • support implementation of technical standards
  • undertake design and prepare AutoCAD drawings in accordance with company CAD standards and design calculations using industry leading software
  • travel and work flexible hours, particularly in the rail environment where night working is necessary

  • arrange meetings for the Project Teams as needed
  • work alongside Project Administrator/Director’s PA and be responsible for managing processes and procedures to support the efficient management of the projects
  • support the Project Teams in tracking and meeting deadlines
  • provide holiday and sickness cover for other office and project administration team members
  • manage a project database and resource tracker with inputs from Project and Management Teams
  • the role is both demanding and fast-paced requiring a candidate with a high level of organisational competence, professionalism and confidentiality
  • respond to external clients where appropriate, follow up with assigning actions to the Project Teams, and track closing of actions
