- please note, this position in based in Co Monaghan
- be responsible for the safe delivery of the service in line with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures

- understand and monitor health and safety in the workplace and in the field. Act as lead for infection prevention and control
- promote the rights of each Service User and keep their wishes at the centre of their care and support
- weekly, Monthly and Annual Quality Monitoring and Assurance Reports
- to ensure that individual care plans are developed, implemented and monitored in accordance with agreed standards
- to assist in the induction of new staff so that they can acquire an understanding of their role and responsibilities
- undertake training and development to keep up to date with the law, best practice and changes in company policy. Apply this knowledge to day to day management and delivery of care
- to provide professional supervision to staff and participate in staff appraisal in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- identify ongoing training needs and ensure staff are up to date with current best practice
- to actively promote, participate in and ensure the provision of high standards of physical care, hygiene and safety for all children resident in the Home
- maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements and to ensure the effective running of the business
- to manage the home so as to meet as far as possible the expressed needs of the individual children, and to promote positive outcomes for them
- to participate in the pre-admission and admission processes to ensure that the placement needs of the child are fully identified and individual care plans in place to meet these needs
- to assist with budgetary control in terms of verifying monthly returns, mileage sheets and accounts for payment where required

- to provide leadership and guidance. To organize and manage staff on a day to day basis in order to maintain 24 hours staff cover and consistent care
- make sure that prior to each service commencing, a customer assessment and risk assessment with the SU, and/or their chosen representatives, has been completed including what the SU needs and would like to achieve from their care and support
- manage the effective recruitment, induction and training of the coordinator , business support and recruitment staff, supervisor , care workers and other support staff
- to promote high standards of child care practice
- ensure there are sufficient numbers of suitably qualified staff allocated appropriately to meet service needs at all times. Implement company policy and procedures in relation to managing absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters
Requirements
- min level 8 degree in Social Care /Work
- option 1
- 4 years’ experience of working in a social care environment supporting children
