- prepare surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, or adhesive
- mix and apply mortar or adhesive to secure tiles in place
- cut and shape tiles to fit around obstacles and into corners
- align and level tiles using tools such as levels, straightedges, and squares
- apply grout between tiles and remove excess grout
- inspect finished work for quality and make any necessary repairs or adjustments
Requirements
- proven experience as a tile setter or similar role
- knowledge of different tile types, patterns, and installation techniques
- ability to read and interpret blueprints or design plans
- strong attention to detail and precision in work
- physical stamina to stand, kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials for extended periods of time
- excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- good communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients
