- purpose of the Role
- at Community Furniture Stores we are a warm, fun, friendly bunch, enthusiastic about what we do
- people donate their items, which we then clean, repair and put out for sale offering a discount to those people on benefits and reducing waste in the process
- we work closely with other Charities, the Council, and the York Financial Assistance Scheme to provide brand new essential household items such as beds and cookers, for no cost to the customer in need
- we also provide a range of volunteering opportunities to support those facing long-term unemployment or barriers to work gain new skills and experience
- we pride ourselves in supporting our local community and providing a high-quality service to our clients
- we are expanding our operations in order to better serve our community and are looking for a driver to join our team
- supporting the operations manager and Store Supervisor with stock management and movement within the warehouse and shop areas
- you will be driving the van in and around York collecting items of furniture from people homes and businesses to be sold at the store and delivering household items into a variety of properties
- as part of the warehouse and delivery team, you will also be working with our porters with loading and unloading the van and stock management within the warehouse
