Responsibility
- ensuring effective and safe operation of all machinery across site
- completion of production line breakdowns in a timely manner
- ensure that planned preventative maintenance tasks are completed to the expected standards

- reporting all failures to the shift manager
- engage in Lean Maintenance Improvement Initiatives using CI and Lean techniques
- fault Finding on a range of Machinery across the manufacturing site
- assist in the implementation of an effective PPM system
- completion of daily, weekly, and monthly PPM routines
- responsible for site instrument calibrations, ensuring critical instruments are kept up to date with inspections & calibrations as per site standards
- continuous Improvement work on machinery and site
- ordering and control of replacement parts and critical spares
- develop prioritised plans for maintenance activity ensuring that maintenance windows are fully utilised
- root Cause analysis
- carrying out scheduled PPMs
- ensuring of compliance to company H&S polices / procedures
- define site standards based on world class best practise and use this as a foundation for all site projects
- have a direct involvement in new machine investments, working with contractors / suppliers on relevant projects
- develop Preventative maintenance instructions based on breakdown history and root-cause analysis
- maintaining high personal & product safety / quality standards
- use shopfloor data to improve line uptime
- working within a team of shift engineers & production staff
- assist with electrical/instrumentation breakdown activity and planned maintenance tasks, including interrogation of computer software to ensure fault diagnosis
- use the Computerised Maintenance Management System to log faults and report potential defects, analyse fault information, and record hours and materials used
- identify & implement reliability-based improvements/projects and drive the continuous improvement program across the site to achieve high asset utilisation at lowest cost of manufacturing
Requirements
- at minimum of 5 years within an industrial manufacturing environment
- A minimum of 5 years within an Industrial manufacturing environment
- apprentice trained in Engineering

- apprenticeship / relevant engineering training programme

- relevant Electrical/Mechanical Qualifications
- experience working on high volume production automated machinery
- FMCG manufacturing experience within a food production environment would be preferential
- CI / Lean Manufacturing / Root Cause Analysis
- level 3 Engineering Qualification
- experience of working within an FMCG environment would be advantageous
- good communication ability at all levels
- ideally Manufacturing Experience but not required
- previous experience working within FMCG or Pharmaceutical advantageous
- basic PLC Knowledge
- high Personal Standards - Quality, Safety, Hygiene
- must be able to multitask breakdowns and all other associated designated works with limited resource maintaining composure under pressures and frustrations inherent in a fast-moving output focused environment
