we are an independently run country pub in a stunning location with a beautiful garden and terrace for al fresco dining
we have owned the pub for 23 years and have a well established and successful business
you will head a brigade of 3/4 chefs and full-time kitchen porters preparing fresh and seasonal menus
we endeavor to make everything in-house and, where possible, source our ingredients locally
we are currently looking for a talented Head Chef to maintain our current excellent reputation and to progress our business further still
for example, deliveries of pheasant and duck from the local shoot, whole venison from the Ashdown Forest and whole lamb from the farm opposite to name but a few
as Head Chef, your role will involve all aspects of the day to day running of the kitchen to include menu planning, costing, stock control, ordering, managing, training and motivating more junior members of the team and a good knowledge of food safety standards
this can be a high volume and fast paced kitchen, particularly in the summer months so experience within a similar establishment is essential
