fabricator welder

Responsibility
- read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- set up components for welding according to specifications
- operate heavy equipment cranes to move pieces from one fabrication station to another throughout the manufacturing process
- operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- mark and align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
- repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Requirements
- ability to read blueprints
- knowledge of metallurgy
- knowledge of various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding
- knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing
- deftness and attention to detail
- professional Certification will be a plus
- forklift operation experience is preferred
- fabrication: 1 year
