Responsibility
- Partnering with the business and HR teams to build, launch and continually enhance the Casualty Paralegal Academy offering
- Work with the Legal Training Manager to agree a programme of technical training aligned to the competency framework
- Partnering with key stakeholders to support the attraction, development and retention strategies for the Paralegal population ensuring business services teams work together effectively to deliver the requirements of the programme
Show more +9 - Oversee all elements of the Paralegal Academy, ensuring its aspirations are achieved and that regular updates are provided to the Casualty Strategy Board and other key stakeholders
- Monitor Paralegal attrition, and the reasons for leaving, to ensure the programme is increasing retention and to identify further opportunities for improvement
- Support the Early Careers Recruitment team in delivering agreed annual intakes of Paralegals – attend open evenings and recruitment events, acting as a positive ambassador for the Casualty practice and wider Firm
- Regularly seek and measure feedback from Partners on the benefits of the Academy and opportunities to enhance our offering
- Work with partners and pillar leads to plan for the managed gradual transfer of paralegals between pillars, to reward and retain top talent whilst minimising unnecessary disruption within the business
- Monitor our competitors and ensure that we are constantly improving our approach
- gathering feedback from relevant sources such as the Quality Assurance team, measure the effectiveness of the technical training programme and partner with the Legal Training Manager to enhance its offering
- Undertaking any other ad hoc tasks or responsibilities that reasonably fall within the remit of this position
- Develop and support L&D to deliver the Paralegal induction programme and ongoing core skills training – monitoring their effectiveness and partnering with L&D to enhance the offering
Requirements
- Proven team leadership experience preferably within legal or professional services
- Excellent relationship and communication skills and the ability to work and understand the challenges faced in a fee earning environment
- Excellent planning and organisational skills - ability to think critically, be proactive and solution focused
