- this role is a management role and focuses on working alongside all levels of practitioners to support training, development and improvement

- candidates should hold a minimum Level 3 qualification and be willing to undertake further training to support the role
- to be punctual and willing to do overtime when required
- we are looking for a dedicated, qualified and experienced Deputy manager to join our friendly team in our day nursery in Edgbaston
- to be well presented at all times
- the applicant must have a NVQ Level 3/BTEC National Diploma or equivalent and have at least 3 years experience of early years and experience of a senior role
- this role will involve working alongside our Room Leaders across the entire nursery… supporting with induction and training, reflection and improvement, and learning and teaching
- senior role and Room Leader experience is essential, SEN knowledge is preferred but is not necessary
- the applicant will be based in the Pre school room and assist the manager and established part time deputy to manage the setting

- they will be a key holder and have full responsibility for the running of the setting in the manager and senior deputy's manager absence

- applicants should have a solid knowledge of early years with a willingness to learn new skills and support the entire nursery team and the children we care for

- the applicant must have excellent communication and leadership qualities and be and understanding but firm democratic leader to our fantastic and friendly team
- hours will be based on a 37.5 hours per week and start in September 2023
- developing a robust and tailored training program for individual staff and teams; supporting improvement and best practice
- the applicant will need to have excellent writing skills in order to complete emails, Risk assessment, policies, learning journeys and other documents. They should be creative and imaginative in order to bring fresh new ideas into the setting
- cheeky Monkeys Nursery will thoroughly vet all applications and check a verbal reference prior to interview
- to be in charge of the nursery in the absence of the manager
- assist with the recruitment of new staff as directed by the directors of the nursery
- this position is being offered full time and would suit any current senior early years practitioners wanting to increase their experience and training in the sector

- supporting and mentoring all apprentices, visitors and volunteers within the nursery
- to supervise staff and students and assist with staff appraisals and supervisions
- to recognize staff training needs and look for courses that fulfil those needs
- assist with the recruitment of new staff as directed by the owner of the nursery
- to assist with the general administration of the nursery, as directed by the directors and nursery manager
- organize, attend and minute regular staff meetings
- to support the directors of the nursery and nursery manager and work in the best interests of the nursery at all times
- liaise with the nursery manager to formulate working staff rotas, ensuring that you are meeting the staff ratios at all times
