user researcher

Responsibility

  • analyse and consolidate findings into actionable insights, personas, jobs to be done, or any other appropriate outputs
  • facilitate and run workshop sessions to align teams and working groups on requirements, user research objectives and highlight potential pitfalls
  • design, lead and run strategic generative or summative user research studies along with product teams, recommending and executing the appropriate qualitative or quantitative user research methodologies
  • create and maintain a scalable and easy to digest repository of insights for the team to contribute to and consume from
  • disseminate these insights to product teams and other departments if necessary to inform their decisions, and to leadership to inform the product strategy
  • work collaboratively with business stakeholders to identify gaps in our knowledge and create a user research roadmap to fill this knowledge gap and support the company strategic objectives
  • help champion design thinking across the broader organisation
  • advocate for User Research, communicate insights to all levels of the business to build company-wide knowledge, and help create a customer centric culture

Requirements

  • A well-rounded user research skill set with demonstrable experience working cross-functionally across the entire product development cycle
  • you can identify problems and opportunities, and have demonstrable experience of how user research can impact strategy
  • you have experience creating a shared approach to user research, gathering requirements, creating alignment and driving projects to completion
  • you have contributed to the creation, maintenance and evolution of user research operations
  • you have helped grow and mentor user researchers and product designers throughout your experience
  • you have used quantitative and qualitative methodologies to explore and help product teams explore and define a problem space, prove or disprove hypotheses and evaluate user experience
  • you are a story-teller, able to tailor your presentation to your audience, comfortable communicating up, out and down to gather feedback and onboard others in your approach
  • you understand business strategy, you are capable of thinking ahead and envisioning user research needs, as demonstrated by your experience created user research roadmaps that support company strategic objectives
