to be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team
duties can include but are not limited to, the processing of information in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service
the post holder will be required to work part time and must have a flexible approach to their working pattern to cover colleagues during periods of annual leave or other absence
it should be noted that the under-mentioned duties and responsibilities do not cover the whole spectrum of activities, and these may change from time to time
job Summary To act as medical secretary to the Partnership and undertake all secretarial duties as directed To liaise with patients, the public and other healthcare professionals as required To deal with all enquiries effectively To take and transcribe minutes at designated practice meetings To answer and make telephone calls appropriate to the role, dealing with the callers request appropriately Ensure that Confidentiality is maintained at all times in line with GDPR , Confidentiality, Caldicott and Access Polices Work as part of the team to ensure premises/ facilities are secure and kept clean and tidy throughout the day in line with Health and Safety and Infection Control requirements Confidentiality While seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters
they do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately In the performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, Practice staff and other healthcare workers
