Responsibility

  • support the head chef in all kitchen operations
  • maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area, following policies and procedures as outlined by the food services manager
  • prepare food in accordance with the menu, substituting ingredients when necessary to meet dietary restrictions
  • prepare all types of vegan food and dessert items using recipes provided by the head chef
  • recommend changes to menus to better satisfy customer requests or needs of the Cafe
  • manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels
  • supervise other kitchen staff
  • assist the head chef with special events such as special events in the Centre
