- introduction: Cambridge Business Improvement District is a collaboration of 1,200 businesses, working together to promote and improve the city
- key projects include the Cambridge City Ambassadors, The Visit Cambridge Website and PR for the city, the Love Cambridge Gift Card, our city-wide Christmas lights programme, Our Purple Flag safe night out project, the Love Cambridge summer film nights, additional street cleaning, our Mystery Shop programme and working with the office sector
- this is achieved through a range of projects under two themes: Welcome and Experience Connect and Support
- key projects include the Cambridge City Ambassadors, the Visit Cambridge Website and PR for the city, the Love Cambridge Gift Card, our city-wide Christmas lights programme, our Purple Flag safe night out project, the Love Cambridge summer film nights, additional street cleaning, our Mystery Shop programme and working with the office sector
- this is achieved through a range of projects under two themes: 'Welcome and Experience' & 'Connect and Support'
- we also manage the operational delivery for the Visitor Economy, this includes www.visitcambridge.org and social channels, PR for the city, working with key stakeholders like Visit England and Visit Britain and the on-street visitor welcome through our City Ambassadors team
- the Company’s vision is to: Create a world-class experience for all who visit, live and work in Cambridge, a Global City
- carry out any other duties as required by the Cambridge BID CEO, from time to time
- support further development of activity with the travel trade and conference, meetings and incentive market
- to take the lead on specific BID workstreams/projects that will be focused on the leisure and evening and night-time economy and lead on our relationship with key partners in this sector
Requirements
- educated to A level standard or equivalent or demonstrable evidence of equivalent knowledge & experience/A
- significant experience of successfully managing projects within a DMO setting/AI
- experience of dealing with local government procedures/AI

- understanding the travel trade, conference trade and MICE market
- ability to negotiate with a range of city centre stakeholders with differing agendas/AI
- good IT Skills
- experience of the travel trade market
- good organisational skills
- experience of working in Tourism/AI
- A creative thinker able to develop how Visit Cambridge’s presence and brand recognition can be further developed
- self-motivated and able to work I alone or in a supporting role/I
- experience of working in a partnership environment/AI
- outstanding communications and customer service skills
- ability to prioritise workload and X A/I competing demands to meet objectives on time and on budget/AI
- ability to multi-task whilst maintaining high standards
- experience of managing budgets/AI

- excellent communication skills – both written and oral - ability to express complex subjects clearly and concisely in strategies, reports and briefings/AI

- the ability to lead a data analysis and report writing function that will support the visitor economy and contribute to campaign development
