field service engineer

Working hours

  • full-time | Permanent

Responsibility

  • have a deep understanding and experience of fault diagnoses on packaging machines covering electrical, electronic, and mechanical disciplines
  • work on a range of PLC and Motion control systems
  • work away from home for extended periods
  • conduct machinery checkouts and trials
  • conduct customer acceptance trials
  • assist in Product development
  • carry out Installation and commissioning of the full range equipment we supply
  • promote the sales of spare parts, upgrades, service contracts, training, new and pre-owned machines

Education

  • 5 GCSE’s grade C or above or equivalent
  • ONC or equivalent in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience

Requirements

  • A strong all-round understanding of electro-mechanical equipment and assembly is essential
  • the candidate must have a proven record of being able to interact well with customers
  • is able to diagnose faults using PLC logic
  • be able to control situations whilst providing a high standard of customer service
  • have excellent electro/mechanical technical skills
  • to read blueprints and schematics
  • the successful candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in a related role such as an electrical or electronic technician, field service repair engineer, maintenance engineer
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to serving others

Contract type

  • responding to equipment breakdowns – traveling to customers at short notice
  • providing technical support – both in the field, and remotely
  • delivering Training – to operators and engineers who use the equipment we supply
