BUTTLE PLC is looking for employees for positions:
- we are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and hardworking Yard Supervisor to join our team at Buttle’s in St Albans
- supervise and motivate the yard team to deliver excellent customer service
- organise and co-ordinate daily duties to the team, for tasks to be completed in timely & efficient manner
- lead by example with safe working practices to be conducted by the team at all times
- ensure that all daily checks of fork lift vehicles are undertaken and appropriate actions are taken
- instill good house-keeping as standard and check this is maintained; for the yard to always be safe and tidy
- coach and support the team to gain efficiencies i.e. work smarter not harder
- convey longer term operational goals and delegate tasks effectively for team to achieve
- proven ability to lead and develop team e.g. set objectives to drive performance improvement
- building materials product knowledge is essential, ideally gained from previous experience within a builder’s merchant environment
- forklift Licence Counter balance licence is required and Reach licence would be an advantage
- display high standards of customer service within all areas of your work
- ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
- builders Merchant: 5 years
- yard Supervisory: 2 years
- co-ordinate internal sales activities including some Trade Counter sales
- proactively contacting customers to promote our products and services
- advise and explain Buttle's product range and services to customers
- responding to a wide range of queries from customers
- sourcing non-standard products and negotiating prices
- assisting with all areas of the branch operations as necessary
- outstanding and proven sales experience
- relevant product knowledge in the Timber and Building materials sector
- excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
- relevant persuasive telesales, cross and upselling skills
- you will be part of a dedicated internal sales team committed to growing our branch sales
- epicor/BisTrack knowledge would also be an advantage
- you will be looking after a wide range of sales enquiries, whilst continually trying to develop new and existing business opportunities
- your role may also pro-actively assist with our trade counter sales, therefore high levels of customer service are required
- develop strong relationships with key customers
- grow sales, gross profit and operating costs to maximise profitability
- manage and co-ordinate all branch transport related activities
- assist with health and safety compliance by all in branch
- provide cover for the Branch Manager when required

- proven experience in Building Materials and Merchanting sales is a must

- essential to hold a valid class 2 licence, a CPC card and digi tachograph card, experience in delivering building materials
