Responsibility
- manager as part of the management team within the setting
- the Deputy EYM must be able to evaluate and take control of difficult situations and alter them when necessary
- overview: will appoint at least one Deputy Early Years Manager at each site to support the Early Years
- this person will more than likely take on the role of leading a room alongside their additional deputy duties and will have a minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare and preferably a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within an early years setting including experience in managing and directing staff members
- this person is a leader of staff and should ably and enthusiastically maintain an environment that promotes the goals of the room and the ethos and core values of the company
- this person should be seen as a leader who has excellent communication skills with children, parents/carers and staff and maintain an empathetic and developmental nature in their approach
- the Deputy EYM is responsible for ensuring that all children within the setting are safe, well cared for and making good progress in their learning as well as promoting quality practice by serving as an excellent example and guide to other staff in the setting
- work in partnership with the Early Years Administrator to ensure all paperwork surrounding children, parents/carers and staff is being filed correctly
