Senior UI Technical Designer Edinburgh
As a UI Technical Designer, you will support the UI Team with technical and creative input. Working closely with UI Cross Functional Team and other departments you will create the systems that will power robust and engaging user interfaces using both Unreal Engine and our own tools. Implement effective UI-related sub systems at the right level of abstraction. Use appropriate data structures and algorithms to maximize efficiency in terms of system performance and work. Mentor and support team members so the whole team accomplishes their deadlines as they master their skills. Ability to detect and clearly communicate potential risks and limitations of work. Work closely with other departments to request and integrate required assets. Serve as a technical point of contact for various UI features and systems you develop. Requirements: Extensive experience as a UI Technical Designer or similar role within the games industry. Excellent knowledge of a technical scripting language with Lua being preferred. Previous experience creating fully functional and visually polished user interfaces. Solid planning skills (including dependencies on/from peers) without direct supervision. As a Senior Content Designer in our Edinburgh studio, you will be working within the Design team to produce extemporary environments and exciting gameplay experiences. You will work with the Level & Game Designers, Artists & Scripters to build interactive and immersive locations in different locations of the game's world - aligned with any gameplay requirements. Through collaboration with the Design and Script team, you will use and help to develop an accessible set of custom level editing tools, that will allow players to create their own content. You will be involved in all the steps of producing content, from the paper design & blockout to final implementation and optimization phase.
