Responsibility
- brookfield Residential Home is looking for a Chef to join our team at 1 Clayhall Road
- to speak to residents and offer appropriate choices based upon the days menu
- to work with the team to ensure that all residents are eating well, and input ideas into the menu preparation
- we are looking for a person who is a great team player and is enthusiastic and passionate about cooking and providing our residents with appetising, nutritious food, which is often the highlight of their day
- to be calm and patient at all times, and be able to be flexible with residents with dementia
- to ensure that fresh cakes are prepared for a residents
- to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, and to ensure that Food Hygiene rules are maintained at all times
- to be able to prepare tasty, nutritious traditional home cooked food that is appetising and well presented, to be able to prepare a range of fresh cakes on a daily basis
Requirements
- to have a genuine interest in providing quality nutritious and appetising meals for the elderly
- to be self- motivated and organised
- to be caring and sensitive to the needs of others, in particular the needs of the elderly and infirm
- to be an active team player but also be able to work on own initiative
- to be a good communicator
- cooking: 1 year
- previous cooking experience is essential to this role, an up to date food hygiene certificate will be required but training can be given
- be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
