Responsibility

  • receiving patients consulting with members of practice team
  • handing completed repeat prescriptions to patients and checking names and address
  • respecting the privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients, carers and colleagues
  • explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed
  • to assist patients with any other request such as providing them with updates about
  • communicate effectively with patients and carers
  • acting in a way that recognises the importance of people’s rights, interpreting them in a way that is consistent with Practice procedures and policies, and current legislation
  • behaving in a manner which is welcoming to and of the individual, is non-judgmental and respects their circumstances, feelings priorities and rights

Requirements

  • communicate effectively with other team members
  • communicate effectively with other team members during the shift changes or after absence at work
  • recognise people’s needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly
  • to ensure that all necessary equipment is working and regularly serviced
  • using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines
  • to ensure adequate stocks and supplies and necessary equipment for day to day working
  • identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
  • to monitor work of housekeeping and cleaning staff
